Joseph Hammel

Joseph Hammel is Head of Office in Basel and head of the audit department. His team and he handle auditing mandates in the national and international environment. The range of services provided by the Basel office includes individual and consolidated financial statements in accordance with the Swiss Code of Obligations, Swiss GAAP FER and IFRS. In addition, all classic special audits are carried out, such as company formations, capital increases, agreed upon audit procedures and equal pay audits. A special industry focus of Joseph Hammel is the health care sector and public administrations.

After his studies, Joseph Hammel worked as an auditor for a Big4 company. He then moved into public administration, where he held various management positions. Joseph Hammel joined BDO in 2018 and is a part-time member of the Tax Appeals Commission of the Canton of Basel-Stadt. Joseph Hammel is a certified public accountant and studied economics at the University of Basel.
