Whistleblowing is an effective tool for uncovering misconduct within a company.
It promotes a culture of transparency and integrity and can help in identifying and minimising potential risks at an early stage. Swiss organisations with branches or subsidiaries in the EU employing more than 50 people are also indirectly affected by the EU Whistleblower Protection Directive. Such companies are required to provide internal reporting channels for these branches or subsidiaries.
If companies do not provide internal reporting channels or do not respond to reports, whistleblowers are permitted to contact the competent authorities. BDO can support you in designing and implementing appropriate reporting systems and in investigating reported information internally.
We offer you the following services:
- Design and implementation of whistleblowing management systems
- Ombudsman functions/contact points for employees in the event of suspected irregularities
- Case management and triage
- Performance of independent investigations by BDO (full investigation)
- Support with internal investigations (co-sourcing)
- Internal training or workshops on the topic of whistleblowing management systems
We have designed our whistleblowing service offering to be flexible so that we can cater to your individual needs. With the BDO whistleblowing toolkit, we ensure that you receive precisely the support you need – at a competitive price.
We will be pleased to provide you with a framework agreement tailored to your individual needs and specifically adapted to your company.
We provide you with clear reporting channels; carefully review the reports received; and consult with you to determine whether further measures are required.
Regular sharing of experiences and an annual activity report also ensure that the whistleblowing reporting system continues to meet your needs at all times.
